Delbert Richard Wygle of Climax, died on Thursday, November 09, 2006, at Howard Twilight Manor in Howard, Kansas, at the age of 93.
He was born on May 1, 1913, in Spring Creek Township, Greenwood County, Kansas, the son of Albert Christian and Essie Pearl (Witty) Wygle. The family lived southwest of Reece, Kansas until 1920, when they moved to a farm in the Climax area. Delbert attended Climax Schools and graduated from Climax High School with the class of 1931.
On April 2, 1941, Delbert was united in marriage to Helen Cummings in Eureka. They made their home on the farm near Climax. Helen preceded him in death on May 21, 2001.
Delbert was a member of the Climax United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and rancher, and had lived in Greenwood County his entire life before entering the nursing home.
He is survived by one son, Richard Wygle of New Braunfels, Texas, two daughters, Carmen Lilley of Piedmont and Norma Jane Ervin of Severy, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 13, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
