Dale Rolland Burnett, of Howard, died on Thursday, January 15, 2004, at Via-Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, at the age of 65.
He was born on May 15, 1938, near Council Grove, Kansas, the son of Chas O. and Cecile (Bashor) Burnett. Dale was raised near LeRoy, Kansas and attended Olive Branch Country School and Colony High School, graduating with the class of 1956. After his schooling he moved to Iola, Kansas and began his career as a contractor in new home construction and remodels.
On June 24, 1961, Dale was united in marriage to Mary Angleton in Iola, Kansas. They made their home in Iola, Chanute, Humboldt, Eureka, a farm near Severy, and Howard. Dale retired in 1996.
He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Elk Falls.
Dale is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, one daughter, Traci Smith of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, one grandchild, two brothers, Ray Burnett of Forsyth, Missouri and Charles Burnett of Lawrence, Kansas, and one sister, Cleda Murphy of Reed Springs, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, Kansas, with Mr. Robert Hoffman of Parsons, Kansas officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.
