Cleveland Arthur Knight, of Hamilton, died on Monday, December 8, 2003, at the age of 74.
He was born on April 20, 1929, in Severy, Kansas, the son of Frank and Lily (Wormington) Knight. He was raised in Severy, Howard, and Moline, and attended area schools. After his schooling he worked in a Chevrolet repair garage, the oil fields, and then started his career on the track crew with the Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 1994.
On August 12, 1950 Cleveland was united in marriage to Joan Weyranch.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Steve Knight of Hamilton, and Randy and Rosann of Hamilton; three daughters, Mary “Jane” Bales and husband Leon of Piqua, Becky Snovelle and husband Rod of Moscow, Kansas, and Shawnda Knight of Emporia; two brothers, Ernie Knight of Hamilton, and Winifred Knight of Howard; two sisters, Bertha Baumgartel of Howard, and Bonnie Ramsey, of Moline; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka with Pastor Leon Wise of the Hamilton Baptist Church officiating.
Cremation has been effected.
