Carolyn Louise Harber, of Eureka, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Vintage Park in Eureka, at the age of 81.

She was born on October 26, 1939, in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Stanley Max and Thelma Louise (Jones) Richardson. She was raised in Independence and attended local schools, graduating from Independence High School with the Class of 1957. Following graduation, she worked as a secretary for a time, before moving to Texas.

On December 7, 1968, Carolyn was united in marriage to Roy Lester “Pop” Harber in Eureka, Kansas. They made their home in Eureka. Together they raised five children. Carolyn went to work for attorneys Forbes and Pohl, as a legal secretary; a position she held for 27 ½ years, until her retirement in 1995.

Carolyn was a member of the Christian & Congregational Church where she served in many capacities and a longtime member of the Christian & Congregational Women’s Fellowship where she held many offices.
Together, Pop and Carolyn loved to go camping and spend time with family and friends. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2015.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Carolyn Marie and husband, Larry Hein of Eureka, Kansas; Dan and wife, Stephanie Harber of Newton, Kansas; E. J. and wife, Hope Harber of Wichita, Kansas; Diane Elliott of Kansas City, Kansas; and Michael and wife, Sue Harber of Wichita, Kansas; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Judy Burbach of Overland Park, Kansas; and Leigh Ann Jones of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorial services are set for 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Christian & Congregational Church in Eureka with Pastor Gary Boles of the Hamilton Community Fellowship officiating. Masks are required and social distancing should be observed. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, in Eureka. Cremation has been effected.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Christian & Congregational Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P. O.
