Boyce Duane Ward of Eureka, died on May 11, 2007 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka at the age of 73.
He was born on June 10, 1933 the son of Clarence W. and Alta Mae (Burkhart) Ward. He was raised in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School in 1951. After his school he farmed. Later he ran a trucking business, but went back to farming which he loved. He worked for the Eureka School District 389 until his retirement.
He was married to Bartine Evans but this marriage later ended in divorce. On September 9, 1993 he married Frances Denner in Longview, Washington. They made their home in Eureka, Kansas.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Greenwood Shriners Three-Wheelers, and Masonic Lodge 106.
He is survived by his wife Frances; daughter, Nancy; step-son Michael Donaldson of Oregon; step-daughter, Marsha Thomason of Washington; brother, Larry Ward of Kingman, Kansas; sister Delores Moon of Wichita, Kansas; eight step-granchildren; six step-great-granchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Diana Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, Kansas.
A memorial has been established in his name to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy, Greenwood County Hospital and the First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045.
