Billy Clark “Doc” Leasure, of Eureka, died at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka on Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the age of 86.
He was born in Osceola, Missouri, on February 5, 1917, the son of Roy and Nellie (Clark) Leasure. He was raised in Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School. After finishing high school, he worked at the Ford Motor Company in Kansas City, Missouri. On March 5, 1943 he entered in the United States Army and served his country with honor during World War II. After his discharge, Doc attended the Logan Basic College of Chiropractic in St. Louis. He practiced in El Dorado before moving to Eureka to open his own practice. He retired in the late 1970’s.
On April 27, 1978, Doc was united in marriage to Delbertta Juresic, in Eureka, Kansas.
Doc attended the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, was a lifetime member of the DAV, and VFW Post #2712, he was also a member of Fidelity Lodge #106 A.F. & A.M., The York Scottish Rite Bodies, and Midian Shrine.
He is survived by his wife, Delbertta, of the home, one step-son, John Juresic and his wife Lynette and two grandchildren, Rachelle and Nathan all of Andover.
Memorial services will be held at Koup Family Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, 2003, at 11:00 A.M., with Reverend Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Abbey.
Memorials have been established in his name with the First United Methodist Church and the Shrine Plane of Mercy. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
