Betty Louise McIntyre of Wichita, formerly of Eureka also known “Grandma Mac” went home to be with her Lord on November 27, 2014.

Betty was born on June 10, 1924 in El Dorado, Kansas the daughter of Tillman and Anna (Meier) Bennett. She was raised in El Dorado before the family moved to Leon where she graduated high school. After her schooling she worked at G and H Tool Company then Beech Craft during WWII. She moved to California briefly before moving back to Leon when she went to work for Boeing and later Boeing Credit Union. She moved to Coldwater for nine years before moving back to Wichita. She and husband Mickey made their home on Eureka Lake in 1977, where they enjoyed many happy wonderful years with family and friends. She continued to live there until 2011 before moving to Derby to be closer to her daughters. Her faith was very important to her and she was devoted to her family and was always there to help when needed.

On May 29, 1944 she was united in marriage to Martin S. McIntyre in Marysville, California. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1994.

Betty was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society, and the Red Hatters.
She is survived by her son Virgil (Roxanne) McIntyre of Dana Point, California; daughters, Connie S. (Marvin) Angleton of Wichita, Cora Ann Deihl of Wichita and Cindy (Frank) Russold of Wichita; nine grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Melvin, Jimmy and Jack Bennett; great-grandchildren, Zakary and Brittney Blenden and Emma Angleton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Parish 2306 Meadowlark Blvd, Derby, Kansas. Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eureka with visitation to follow from 8-9 P.M. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery, El Dorado.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the St. Mary’s Building Fund, Derby, Kansas or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eureka and left in care of the funeral at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045.
