Barbara Jo Smith

Barbara Jo Smith of Eureka, died on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka, at the age of 78.
She was born on March 11, 1943, in Coffeyville, Kansas, the daughter of Jeanette A. (Miller) Davenport-Olbrot and was raised in Coffeyville. At a young age she was adopted by Laurence L. and Violet Viola (Armstrong) Van Buskirk. In the early 60’s she was united in marriage to Richard Aneo Miller. To this union, one son was born. This marriage later ended in divorce. On February 20, 1979, she was united in marriage to Bobby Lee Smith in Eureka. They made their home in Eureka. Barbara worked at Eureka nursing homes for many years. Bobby preceded her in death in 1989.
She is survived by two children, Larry Smith of Emporia; and Ernie Smith of Eureka; and one sister, Barbara Ann Waid. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Richard L. Miller.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton with Pastor John Craighead of Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Eureka Nursing Center.
