Alpha Celona Hall, of Eureka died on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 95.
She was born on January 25, 1914 in Greenwood County, the daughter of Benjamin H. and Ruth (Nucklos) Butler. Alpha was raised in Greenwood County attending school in Tonovay graduating Valedictorian of her class.
On February 24, 1935 she was united in marriage to Charles W. “Weige” Hall in Tonovay. Alpha helped Weige on the family farm and ranch where they raised four boys.
She was a leader in the 4-H, and a member of the Tonovay’s Ladies Club and the UMC. Alpha was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Allen and Ronald Hall of Eureka and Charles Hall of Olivet, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Butler of Eureka; three sisters, Winifred Rader of Winfield, Kansas, Virginia Anderson of Houston, Texas and Vi Swisher of Piedmont, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weige; son, Larry; four brothers and an infant sister.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 7, 2009 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Diana Hill officiating.
