Alma A. Walford, of Eureka, died on Saturday, February 19, 2005, at Medicalodge in Eureka, at the age of 79.
She was born on July 1, 1925, in Piedmont, the daughter of Oliver F. and Sarah E. (Moore) Wade. She was raised in Piedmont and attended local schools. Later she moved to Eureka, where she owned and operated her own restaurant, as well as worked at various places including Sears, Winfrey’s Furnishing, and Barkman Jewelers. In June 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to Phillip Jay Walford, in Eureka. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2005.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter & son-in-law, Evelyn & Dean Oblander of Derby; grandson & granddaughter-in-law, Jeff & Cherie Oblander of Belle Plaine; granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Denise & Lee Gage of Mulvane; great-grandsons, Garrett, Kyle, and John; great-granddaughters, Jenna, Lacie, and Stephanie; a great-great-granddaughter, Melinda; one brother, Lloyd Wade of Russell; and five sisters, Verna Agard of Andover, Lela Allyn of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Mildred Sheehy of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Myrtle Becker of Eureka, and Carol Olson of Eureka.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Reverend Diana Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
