Alice Corrine Collinson, 93 years, 7 ½ months, died August 31, 2006, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
She was born on January 13, 1913, in Spring Creek Township, the daughter of William Henry and Martha Sophia (Herde) Garner. She spent her early years in Greenwood County, near Piedmont. After her marriage, she moved to Colorado where she lived in the mountains in Summit and Lake Counties for many years until the retirement of her husband in 1970. They moved back to the Piedmont, Severy, and the Eureka area. For the past few years she has lived in El Dorado at Lake Point Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. She also like going to the First Church of God in Eureka for friendship of people and eating out. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Raymond; and three brothers, Walt, Elmer, and Carl.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn, and husband, Clinton O’Roke of El Dorado; grandson, David, and wife, Nina Jackson of El Dorado; one granddaughter, Kathleen, and husband, Randy Tracey of Eureka; three great-grandsons, Nick Jackson, Bryan McConnell, and William Tracey; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Don Stice of the First Church of God officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
