Alice B. Boren of Eureka died on October 27, 2007 at Medicalodge of Eureka at the age of 95.
She was born on April 13, 1912 in Climax, Kansas the daughter of Timothy Henry and Josephine (Stark) Ward. She attended school in the Whitehall Bay area in Fall River. After her schooling she worked on the family farm. She later worked for the Eureka School District as a cook. She was an avid doll collector and designed Barbie patterns and sold them through Doll World Magazine. She was devoted mother and wife.
On May 23, 1934 she married Ira Keith Lawrence in Eureka, Kansas where they made their home. He preceded her in death. On June 8, 1952 she married Lawrence Houghton. He also preceded her in death. On April 14, 1974 she married Allen Boren he preceded her in death on November 22, 1992.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Denner and husband Fred of Eureka, Kansas and Sharon and husband Marshall of Eureka, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Patricia Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands and two sons, Darryl and Dean Lawrence and his wife Judy; two brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Myers of Holy Cross Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
