Alberta Lucille Curnutt of Eureka, died on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 82.
She was born on August 23, 1928, in Salem township, the daughter of Ole G. and Della (Starner) Evenson. She was raised in the Eureka area attending Loy and Utopia rural schools. On January 7, 1945, Bertie was united in marriage to George William Curnutt in El Dorado. They made their home in the Eureka area. She was a homemaker.
On May 9, 1981, George preceded her in death. Later, she worked as a custodian for Eureka schools and the hospital. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.
Bertie is survived by one son, Charles W. Curnutt of El Dorado; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donelda Wall of Wichita, and Mary Ryhard of Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church in Eureka with Pastor Maureen Howard officiating. Inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
