Albert Bryant Meadows, of Climax, died on July 19, 2005, at Medicalodge of Eureka at the age of 95.
He was born on May 16, 1910, in rural Hamilton, the son of Robert and Cora (Kester) Meadows. He was raised in the Hamilton area and attended Greenwood County rural schools. After his schooling he began his career in the oil fields.
On January 2, 1935, Albert was united in marriage to Faye Shepherd. To this union four children were born.
In 1975, Albert retired from the Houston-Oklahoma Oil Company. He then owned and operated the Tip Top Motel in Eureka until the mid 1980’s when he retired for a second time.
On January 24, 1981, he was united in marriage to Mary Bartlett-Crisswell in Eureka. They made their home in Climax.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home, two daughters, Shirley Finke of Emporia, and Connie Schlotterbeck of Eureka, seven step-sons, Dale Crisswell of Topeka, Pete Crisswell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rex Crisswell of North Glenn, Colorado, Carl Crisswell of Norman, Oklahoma, David Crisswell of Sharon, Oklahoma, Gary Crisswell of Eureka, and Jimmy Crisswell of California, four step-daughters, Betty Frederick of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nancy Ford of Las Vegas, Nevada, Becky Crisswell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Terry Asberry of Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, thirty step-grandchildren, thirty-seven step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchild, one brother, Irvin Meadows of Camerillo, California, and one sister, Inez Aaroe of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one son, Wesley Meadows, and one daughter, Winnie Meadows.
Cremation has been effected. Services will be on Sunday, August 7, at 2:00 P.M., at Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
