Adeline May Davis
Adeline May Davis of Wichita, died on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Wichita, at the age of 90.
She was born on December 20, 1922, in Atlanta, Kansas, the daughter of Carol and Venus (Stice) Osborn. She was raised in Atlanta and the family moved to Valley Center when she was 7. Adeline lived in Valley Center until she was 19, then moved to Wichita.
On June 7, 1953, Adeline was united in marriage to Sterling Oren Davis in Glenwood, Arkansas. They made their home in Wichita until 1968, when they moved to Greenwood County. Adeline was a secretary to the magistrate judge until her retirement in 2002.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Gehrer of Wichita; Dan Gehrer of Macomb, Michigan; one daughter, Twyla Boyer of Parsons; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda Snider of Mannford, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by three sons, Bruce Davis, Glenn Davis, and Gary Davis; one daughter, Francine Cochran; and two brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 25, 2013 at Kechi Cemetery, in Kechi.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
