Gary Lee Pugh, of Yulee, Florida, formerly of Eureka, died on Monday, December 2, 2019, at his home, at the age of 71.
He was born on February 3, 1948, in Virgil, the son of Homer and Alberta Catherine (Shoemaker) Pugh. He was raised in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School. He then went on to attend Butler County Community College and complete an Associate degree. In 1979, Gary was united in marriage to Mary Hileman in Eureka. To this union, two children were born, Brian and Jason. This marriage later ended in divorce. He was owner of Gary's Welding and Repair in Eureka for many years. He later moved to Florida to be closer to family in 2018 after the tornado.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Pugh of Liberty Hill, Texas; sons, Brian Pugh and fiancé, Britney Dupuis of Winchester, Virginia; and Jason and wife, Betsy of Yulee, Florida; one brother, Leonard Pugh of Eureka, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ron Pugh, Sr.; and a niece, Amanda Deen.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Climax Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Neal Cemetery. Visitation is set from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Thursday, preceding the service. Koup Family Funeral Home is overseeing arrangements.
