Dave Barg

David Bruce Barg of Eureka, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at his home in Eureka, at the age of 96.

He was born on August 24, 1926, in Eureka, the son of Gustav A. and Lottie (VanDeMark) Barg. He was raised in Eureka and graduated from Tonovay High School. He went to work as an oilfield pumper. He served with honor and dignity in the United States Navy. He loved to hunt and fish, and he will be remembered for his love of family time. He would never miss family dinners and enjoyed spending time with his extended family. On October 18, 1969, Dave was united in marriage to Lois Corriene “Corky” (Gray) Lore in Eureka. They spent 44 wonderful years together before she preceded him in death on September 3, 2014.

Dave was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, Fidelity Lodge #106 A.F. & A.M., and the Midian Shrine.

He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and five siblings: June Maxine (Barg) Ball, Charles Hellick Barg, Wilda Charline (Barg) Grove, Philip Lee Barg, and Mark Galen Barg.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, in Eureka with Reverend Linda Pope officiating. Cremation has been effected. Masonic Honors will be provided by Fidelity Lodge #106. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
